Nationwide ISA matured and disappeared

I had a fixed ISA maturing this week. I gave my instructions to them over a week ago to open a new fixed rate ISA. Today I logged on and the balance is 0 in the ISA. No new ISA so tens of thousands disappeared from sight.

I tried chat who seemed quite blasé and said I should wait five days for it to reappear. When I asked about whether it was earning any interest in the interim the chat cut off.

It’s disconcerting to not have any information on where my money is or why it takes them five days before they can open a new ISA when they received instructions well in advance of maturity.

Anyone experienced this before or know if it will be earning interest? Wish I’d arranged to transfer it elsewhere🙁

Nationwide accounts can sometimes take a day or two to be visible in online banking. If it's an internal transfer you've arranged, then I wouldn't be unduly worried just yet.

Yes it will be earning interest.
No it's not gone missing (just not visible in IB).

Wait, as advised, and it'll all come good... almost certainly.

DO check the transactions/full statement list on the A/C that has a zero balance - it might give a clue as to what has happened in the last few entries?

I can't remember what happened last time we did similar - our ISAs were moved to other far higher-paying Building Societies many moons ago.

Scary isn't it when that happens?  But it will turn up.  The last time it happened to me the email made it clear what would happen.

Thanks all. Yes it’s safely back today! Looking at the transactions on each account it does look like it wasn’t a smooth transfer without loss of any interest but that might be due to the way they are presenting it. It seems to have gone from one high fixed account into a maturity account paying less than both the old and the new fixes then onto the new higher fixed. One day also shows as 0 interest. Last time I did this it was completely seamless, going from old to new account, which is why it threw me this time.
