new O2 payg sim not receiving calls....

I've just given my bf his xmas pressie early, a new phone with a brand new O2 sim card in it, I've not put any credit on it yet tho.
I cant get through if I call but he's getting the texts I've sent, does anyone know why that is?

It won't be fully active until it is topped up.

that is true. you need to be in credit to activate the 02 sim. they promise a £1 free credit when you register the sim card online, but you must have purchased a credit before you recieve it.

top it up as advised, and also be aware it can take up to 24 hours after top up before it does start working.

I had a similar problem...toppedup online with £10 and was credited with £11 immediately and the phone started working!
