Travel insurance for father and adult daughter advice needed

Looking at holiday insurance for my self and daughter (She's 21 so adult) when I do a comparison search it won't let me choose family as she's over 18, can I select couple or do I have to select group? If I select group the price of the insurance is considerably higher than for couple.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

Either select a group policy or the other adult buys their own policy. Do not select couple0

Thanks just can't understand why there should be such a difference given the details are the same and we both live at the same address. Bit of a rip off to charge near £100 moremaisie_cat said:Either select a group policy or the other adult buys their own policy. Do either of you have any pre-existing conditions that you'd want covered for the risk of cancelling the holiday?
If not, certainly look at individual policies too, hers should be dirt cheap0 -
I have declared pre existing condition, done a search for just me and can get decent cover for £65 (one week Mexico) it was just over £100 as a couple and £210 as a group.DullGreyGuy said:Do either of you have any pre-existing conditions that you'd want covered for the risk of cancelling the holiday?

What does individual for your daughter come out as? 🤔0

Is your daughter still in full time education? This usually the only time that some family policies continue to cover them under a family policy.
Probably better off as individual, but do consider what that means should you need to cancel because one of you can't go. That is the additional risk the group policy will cover.0 -
I don't know I'm waiting for her to do it but it seems getting her Roblox fix before she goes to work is prioritymaman said:What does individual for your daughter come out as? 🤔

That doesn't answer the question... the issue of two individual policies is she cannot declare your condition on her policy which is a problem if your condition could result in a cancellation before you go. If you do go and then have a problem overseas then your policy should (but check it does) cover 1 person staying with you if deemed necessary.interstellaflyer said:

I'd be surprised if two individual policies wouldnt be cheaper than the £100 for a couple.
PS. remember the limit is per person so if your holiday is costing £6,000 between you then you only need £3,000 cancelation cover each (though with most policies linking all the limits to the headline you may want to pay for more to get higher personal possessions cover or such)0 -
Not sure what I haven't answered, price with declared medical condition as a couple was just over £100, as a group it was £210 and individual was £65 all different insurers. As for cancellation, the holiday was total of just over £2000 so we don't need much cancellation cover and we have cover with TUI that would allow us to make changes.DullGreyGuy said:

Just keep in mind that TUI insurance don't cover all outings from the hotel or some activities they offer through their reps. Those activities, outings may be run by outsourced local companies. It's something they don't mention when 'selling' them from the hotel.Or if you are booking your own trips outside of the hotel.Check your policy with them and ask if you decide to do those. Also be sure you are covered by the policy you are taking out now.
