  • Hi, I haven’t heard anything from them. The standing order went out ok but I’ve heard nothing since. Will keep you posted

I wouldn't pay Zopa anything until interest stops.

    Send this for starters

  • I’ve just set up another two standing orders for other debts to Moorcroft. This time, I messaged them on live chat to let them know and the response I got was ‘thanks I’ve updated the account that is in place for you’ - expected some push back but nothing 🤷‍♀️

Thank you both. I will cancel the standing order to Zopa for now and send the letter regarding the interest. I am going to set up the standing order to Wescot also and see if they contact me.

I have also received a couple of letters:

    1) Lantern have sent me a SOA after I had sent a CCA request. They have confirmed on the letter that account is still on hold whilst they await a copy of the CCA from Lendable. I assume I can just ignore this?

    2) Cabot have written to me regarding my Fluid card to say that they have purchased the debt and Wescot are now managing this for them. After a quick search, I can see that Cabot own Wescot and Wescot collect for them. Does this mean I send the CCA request directly to Cabot?

    Thanks again
  • I’ve just received a text from westcot saying they still need to speak with me urgently about my account.

anything that is urgent comes recorded delivery in the post, that is my opinion.

Tesco  bank did that to me when I asked for cca agreement and statement, it came special delivery!

sending a cryptic clue in a txt is unprofessional imo.
Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

  • I have just sent them an email with a screenshot of the standing order I have in place and asked them to stop texting me. Will let you know what they say.

Wescott are just a collection company, its like your local Tesco wanting you to "urgently" shop there.

Thankyou, I guess I just hoped that after the account defaulted and I set a standing order up, they would leave me alone 🙈🤣

@fatbelly Zopa have now come back to me after sending a letter about interest after default and have said "whilst on a plan contractual interest is still applied which is in line with our terms and conditions".

Not really sure where I stand on this? My account has definitely been defaulted but they seem to have set up a plan for the arrears amount only, which I guess is why they are still applying interest?

Also, @freshstart2023 Wescot have still been chasing me even though I set up a standing order. They are trying to make me complete a fairly detailed income and expenditure form. Have you had to do this for them now?

I have also sent CCA requests to the two debts purchased by Cabot. They haven't yet responded to this. If they don't by the end of this week, then I am going to email them to confirm receipt.

Following CCA request, Lantern have emailed me again to say that they have placed a further 30 day hold on my account as it is taking them longer than expected to conclude their enquiries.
