  • Pleased to say I let mine reach the point where the rate dropped, closed it, waited 24 hours then opened a new one. Thanks for the help.
  • Hi

Anyone have the Edge current account alongside a Lite account? The Lite is my main account and I'm a little unsure about having both and causing myself problems but as rates drop I may take the plunge.

    Cheers
  • Got a Lite, Everyday and Edge account. No problem at all

I have the 123 Lite for the cashback. I also have the Edge current account but I don't use it, but it's a prerequisite for the 7.00% Edge Saver. I have not had problems having both
  • Thanks for the replies much appreciated.

I assume the rationale behind renewing a Santander Edge Saver Issue 1 before the 12 month bonus interest period ends, is to lock in the bonus 2.5% variable interest part for another 12 months. It seems strange that in their key facts document they give an example of interest earned after 12 months and 24 months with no bonus for the second 12 months. Still, if forumites have been able to do this "work around" all too the good. We don`t know what Santander will do with the ES this year. Both parts of the total interest are variable so each part can be reduced or they could open a new Issue 2 with a less favourable interest rate. Our ES`s "mature" in August so I`m wondering if their is any real benefit in renewing now as opposed to August, that is if the "work around" is still possible then.

They do say that they might change the account to an Everyday saver if you don't abide by the conditions. Not heard of anyone trying it out, or if they do as they state.

They do, they give you two months notice before doing it though.
