Freesat

We are cancelling Sky Q.
Does anyone have Freesat with a Sky dish? Is it easy to set up? I understand we have to have a 4K Freesat box to work with our Sky Q satellite dish

The dish itself is irrelevant.  The key part is the LNB, the microphone type thing that "looks" at the dish.

If its wideband (which it probably will be) it'll be fine for Freesat.
There's a possibility you may have a hybrid LNB, but its more likely to be wideband.
Whichever one you have it'll be fine.

Remember you need to send SkyQ hardware back.
  • When I had Sky Q installed, they installed an hybrid LNB, so a standard non-sky box (or regular Freesat box) could also be used.

It doesn't need to be a 4K Freesat box, just needs to be able to connect to a Q LNB as stated above.
  • super easy for us.  just unplugged the sky q box and plugged the cables into the freesat box.  Never looked back since tbh.
