Yes I know they wouldn't but if anyone wanted to switch providers they could stop them every time by changing something on their systems. It would not be difficult to do.Life in the slow lane0

I have been trying to exit EDF ever since dragged kicking and screaming into their appalling customer service under the SoLR process.

There was exactly the same short switch delay and similar issues with short term reading issues (regardless of smart meters) for customers moved from SSE to OVO following the acquisition.Having worked on internal moves between accounting databases at work for a small company it takes months of planning and testing to migrate everything cleanly and a few days of locked data feels reasonable(especially as EDF appear to have communicated dates unlike OVO).1

I know what I posted. Hopefully the OP will come back on the 21st October & prove me wrong. Sometimes it is actually nice to be wrong.

Just asked Octopus to try the request again (even though EDF said to wait until Monday) and it has gone through and been accepted - so I can finally move away from EDF !4

EDF find mechanisms to block the change repeatedlyMy experincs was similar. SoLR'd to EDF when GNE failed, switched my gas to Zog without issue, SoLR'd back again when Zog failed, switched my electricity to Octopus with no problem, then switched my gas too once the Zog SoLR was all sorted out.Three switches away from EDF within 18 months, no hiccups with any of them.

There shouldn’t be. The 28 day block on concurrent switches is just one of the many behind the scenes industry procedures that rarely impact consumers.
