Claim form from QDR Solicitors Limited on behalf of ECP

Hi I've recieved a claim form from QDR Solicitors for a parking fine I got back in March 2021 from Euro Car Parks stating I parked from 11:54 to 12:26 without paying and displaying which is unfortunately true. Anyhow I recieved a claim form from them that looks very official from the civil national business center court address it looks like.
I come asking for advice on what I can/should do, few bullet points:
Date of event 16/02/2021
Its been 2 years and 7 months since the incident and they're still chasing after it
The address they sent to I no longer live in (friend lives there)
Car I've sold a few years ago too
They're claiming 255 to be paid
Now my question is, is it worth fighting this claim
How much effort will it take as I'd rather just pay it
If I do pay it will it stay on my record like a ccj
If any more information is needed please let me know thank you!
Sorry for the bad formating, on mobile and been up for 24hrs

All your questions will be answered (certainly about the process) in the NEWBIE sticky, starting with the second post. If you don't mind a CCJ on your credit file/history and aren't planning to get a mortgage/remortgage or any form of credit, even a new mobile for six years, then don't fight it. If, however, you do need any of those things,, then yes, with our help, you fight it, It will take a little bit of reading and writing (defence and witness statement) but templates are provided for those. If you go to court and lose, then providing you pay within the timescale set by the judge NO CCJ will stick on your file.
Question for you - what is the date of issue of the clam form, assuming it is a N1 claim form from the CNBC/CCBC and not just a letter of/before claim? Have you processed ann AoS yet. Give us those dates and forum regular @KeithP will be along with some deadlines and pointers towards the guidance.2 -
Hi I've literally done nothing but ignore every letter sent to the wrong address, if I just pay the claim form amount without fighting it will it actually go on my record? Because id rather pay it than fight it as I'm quite busy with uni.
It's a claim form issued 7th September 20230 -
Sorry but paying this is just the cowards way out
You are not to busy at uni to write a defence witness statement. Sorry but that I find frankly so hard to believe (given all the help you need is on here) and since when do people have money to waste.3 -

Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.2 -
I appreciate your help Keith but the issue as I stated is time, I'm currently on holiday and won't be coming back till the 28th. Could I pay it online without a record impact?0

After returning from holiday, you still have two weeks left to file a Defence.
We see people here file a Defence in a few hours.
I am really struggling to understand how a university student would come to a forum dedicated to helping people fighting parking tickets and ask how to pay.
A university student who has presumably mastered the English language but hasn't bothered to read the information in front of him/her.
Please get your Claim Form out.
Turn it over.
Now read the information on it - in the box entitled How to Pay.
I suggest you file an Acknowledgment of Service - that'll take you all of ten minutes.
Having done that, you have lots of time to reconsider your options.1 -
Please don't. We - and the Government - are fighting a rogue industry and it's clear (sadly) that people who pay are perpetuating the problem. And you don't need to pay.
I've written 95% of your defence for you. It's right there in the Template Defence thread.if I just pay the claim form amount without fighting it will it actually go on my record? It won't go on your record even if you defended it and lost next year, because you'd then pay LESS THAN THE CLAIM and have no CCJ.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If you willingly pay it then you are funding the scammers and you become a part of the problem. You have time to come on here and ask for advice and then just succumb to the scam. Absolutely incredible!
You will also be marked as low-hanging fruit on the gullible tree and targetted again. Your choice.1 -
How can you be to busy at uni to also be on holiday . Makes no sense2

It's difficult to explain my situation, would the Acknowledgment of Service be available to file online? I'm booked to return on the 28th0
