Help with insurance claim
Hi my mum was in a car park a few weeks ago and a car had almost blocked her in and the man was sitting in it but didnt move it, she manouvered about 20 times and got her car out.
The car followed her down the road and shouted to her at the traffic lights you nearly hit me then she shouted your a scammer and he drove of quite fast.
A few days ago she got a call from her insurance about a collision she had had, it turns out he is now saying she has hit his car, her insurance have said they have concerns about his claim as he is claiming for car hire and all sorts of stuff, they have sent someone out who has checked all over her car and have said there are no marks scuffs or anything wrrong with it.
her insurance have said as they have only been notified that there will be a claim incoming it could be years before they submit it, she is getting really stressed about this.
is there anyway we can reject this altogether, its not fair that someone can just make something up

She should contact the insurer and get the events on record. She needs to calmly articulate what happened, she could even follow this through in writing that she denies the events alleged. She could then call 101 and report the incident as a likely insurance fraud given the circumstances.1

If you've been the victim of a fraud, online fraud, cyber crime or you suspect one is being attempted, report it to Action Fraud.
Action Fraud is the UKs national fraud and cyber crime reporting centre. "

Absolutely, however we all know Action Fraud will do nothing. 101 might be interested if this person is operating at a specific location (and the OP's mother has some relevant details to share).1

Action Fraud will tell you to raise your concern with your insurers, their Claims Fraud team will investigate and will pass to the Police if they feel there is anything worth pursuing.Polmop said:is there anyway we can reject this altogether, its not fair that someone can just make something up1
