Who should claim: Ticket purchaser or travellers ?

Hello All
I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this ?
I bought 5 tickets for my close and extended family but I did not in the end travel myself. They all travelled.
Assuming I want to claim which I do, should I put in the denied boarding claim or should one of the passengers do it ?
I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this ?

Why didn't you travel?
What is the basis of your claim?
Is this a travel insurance claim?0 -
If you were involuntarily denied boarding then you claim. If they had a delay and they want to claim for that, then you can do it on behalf of the whole group, though any compensation belongs to the travellers.

What "claim" do you want to put in? With the airline for wrongful denial of boarding? With your travel insurers?
What losses did your family suffer to give them any grounds for claiming?0 -

The airline put them up overnight and found a plane for them the next day. 2 of the party missed a day at work and 2 disabled children started the term a day late. Minimal non-consequential loss but my understanding is the airline should pay a fixed amount set out in the denied boarding regs.
Not sure what else to add that would make a difference regarding who should put in the claim?
