Talk Talk Full Fibre upgrade- is it straight forward?

So if you don’t want FTTP , and hate fast internet , why did you order it , or accept TT offer to install it in the first place , even if Talk Talk said it’s better ( it is ) it’s the future ( it is ) it’s not yet compulsory, if you were at the end of an existing ‘contract’ fir ordinary broadband and wanted the best ‘deal’ they could offer , that may have required you to take FTTP but you had the choice to stay as you were , out of contract paying more than necessary but staying (for now and probably for a good few years ) on the copper cable broadband service.
As far as excavation of the garden and access hole etc to get a new optical cable into your property , that is often needed on property built in the 1960’s through to the early 1990’s when burying the armoured copper telephone cables direct in the ground was the standard method of provision, perhaps you should have asked in advance on a forum such as this in advance instead of afterwards if you didn’t appreciate how FTTP is delivered .
If this work is unacceptable, cancel the order with TT , and explain you don’t care about a cheaper deal you just want to stay as you are , unfortunately as you are with TT its far from guaranteed that they will manage to cancel the new FTTP order and keep your copper cable service working , but hopefully that’s how it turns out for you .1
