Buildings insurance for a property I own but occupied by my parents

Looking for advice or anyone's experience with a similar situation. I own the property that my parents live in. I need to get buildings insurance. They don't pay me rent and they don't have a tenancy agreement, etc. Is the right product here landlord's insurance? Or will these providers insist I register as a landlord etc? I don't think standard buildings insurance is right here because I don't live at the property and they can't get buildings insurance because it's not their property. Any thoughts welcome.

Yes it won't be landlords Insurance.

It will be a policy in your name for a second property.  Easiest way is to contact the Insurers that cover the main house where you live and ask for a quote for this second property. If they won't offer a quote, as some Insurers just won't cover second properties, then contact Insurance brokers locally, who should be able to find Insurers willing to quote.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

If you Google "Insurance for a house I own that my parents live in" All the entries from brokers like Hiscox and  Insurers say you need "Landlords Insurance"

LV insurance were the most competitive option for me with a similar situation. "Landlords'" insurance providers will cover it though if you declare the actual set-up.
