In a case like Amazon where they can go back and see the original purchaser you've no chance, although if you rocked up at a retail store with the original till receipt you'd probably be fine even though yes there's no legal obligation to help.Alderbank said:No.

The 'proof of purchase' you have is evidence that they only had a contract with the original purchaser and not with you.0 -

No, depending who the seller is you may have CRA rights against them but it will be tempered by the fact it's a second hand item.
