    The 'proof of purchase' you have is evidence that they only had a contract with the original purchaser and not with you.
    In a case like Amazon where they can go back and see the original purchaser you've no chance, although if you rocked up at a retail store with the original till receipt you'd probably be fine even though yes there's no legal obligation to help.

    Even that retail scenario, one will often be asked for the original card if that was the method of payment.

    Im looking to buy a used MacBook that was originally purchased new from Amazon in 2021. As long as I get the original receipt, am I ‘covered’ under the CRA 6 year period? Or does that ‘coverage’ only exist between Amazon and the original purchaser?
    No, depending who the seller is you may have CRA rights against them but it will be tempered by the fact it's a second hand item. If its a private seller, rather than a company, then its outside or the CRA
