Halved my bills

I am, like matt_drummer, pretty concerned for this person and how they will cope in winter. I sincerely hope that being in a flat surrounded by other heated flats might be their saving grace, but it still may be a difficult time ahead.1

MultiFuelBurner said:No-one's jumping on them. The considered opinion of most if not all respondents is that the OP has made a big mistake that will result in higher bills as well as devaluing their property and making it much harder to sell. Regardless of whether the OP agrees, it would be courteous for them to acknowledge those who have contributed (and maybe even to thank some). It would also be helpful to say whether they agree or disagree with the opinions expressed, and better still to say they will update the thread when they have a year's worth of meter readings. Then at least we'd all have learned and gained from reading the thread.I'd be interested to know how things go, but it's looking like we'll never find out.

4 pages of responses suggest otherwise I did pm the OP to see if they were ok.
But not even this reach out will stop others joining in.1 -
Did you get a response?MultiFuelBurner said:4 pages of responses suggest otherwise I did pm the OP to see if they were ok.
If you did I don't expect you to tell us what they said, of course.
I think some of us, including you, are a bit concerned about them.1 -
No-one jumped on the OP. It was more of a "oh no! What have you done?" reaction. And if no-one had pointed out the potential folly maybe others would have thought "ooh, I should do that". Now everyone has the benefit of knowing the pitfalls & there have been some posts along the lines of it might not be too bad after all. The OP is perhaps very embarrassed, perhaps feels they have said their piece & have nothing to add, or hopefully are perhaps looking at options to lessen their possible financial hardship. Hope they are OK, are reflecting on hasty decisions & hopefully they will return & will feel able to seek advice from the very many excellent posters here. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.3

Just looking at my bills. Total Gas & Electric
June 23 £103.86
Jan 23 £189.12 + £67 Support = £256.12.
So that means I have more than halved mine by doing nothing. OK, prices are down a bit.
But as I said before. I hope the OP comes back, & updates us next year with how the costs have gone over winter. As It could mean a no brainer for others & MSE is all about making the best use of our money. 👍
It's about sharing, caring & helping others 👍Life in the slow lane0
