The signal from my provider (EE) has decreased lately, I think due to nearby trees in full bloom, but my phone allows me to use VoWiFi so calls are crystal clear. Can anyone say if text messages use the same route or are they likely to suffer from the reduced cellular signal strength?
This happens every year with the signal increasing in autumn.

Voice and text over WiFi says the EE blurb at https://ee.co.uk/content/dam/ee-help/Help-PDFs/Wifi%20Calling%20Terms%2004%202015.pdf
WIFI CALLING TERMS
With WiFi Calling, EE pay monthly customers can make and receive calls and send and receive texts in the UK over WiFi

Yep, texts work fine for WiFi Calling. Have done since they launched it in 2015.
Just to state that EE PAYG customers also get WiFi Calling too.0
