Edreams/EasyJet refunds

Hi all,
I’m hoping one of you lovely experts can help…….
My husband booked a holiday for our family last January, sadly he died five months later.
I contacted EasyJet and requested a refund which they processed to the card that made the booking,
unfortunately the booking was passed to Edreams via Travel Fusion, so Edreams have my money.
Easyjet are now denying any responsibility as it’s apparently in their t&cs they can do this.
My problem is I cannot get hold of Edreams, every option: phone, twitter, email, fb needs a reference number which no one has.
I have boldly written to the CEO of Edreams but obviously no response.
small claims court seems a bit much just because I can’t speak to them!!!
any help would be appreciated.
Sarah

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear of your loss.
Yes, easyJet have to refund to the party through whom the booking was made, eDreams, unfortunately as they don't have a very good reputation.
eDreams would have to refund to the method of payment used for the booking, if it's your husband's bank debit or credit card that could be another obstacle now, also for a chargeback if that were appropriate.
Sorry not to be much help, perhaps others can suggest a solution..
    Evolution, not revolution
  • Thanks, I just can’t even start a row with Edreams without a reference number!
    appreciate you reading

Do you have any of the travel documentation provided at the time of booking, or access to your late husband’s email account?
  • I do have access, he has a confirmation from EasyJet, but he would never have known they passed the booking on

Is the missing e-Dreams reference number you require not on the booking documentation?

If your husband booked with easyJet, they would not have passed the booking on.

Edreams are a 3rd party booking site that puts themselves between you (the passenger) and the airline/accommodation.
Therefore they (not you) are the customer of the services booked.
They add on all sorts of charges for changes that may be free from the direct supplier.
Quite often the airline will refuse to talk to the lead passenger as (in their opinion), edreams are their customer.

    They have an appalling record.
Lots of complaints about them (and similar 3rd party companies) on TripAdvisor.

I don't think things happened as you say they did i.e. you booked with easyJet who passed the booking on to Travel Fusion then on to edreams.

They are on online company based in Spain.

Sometimes your bank statement might contain the reference number in the transaction details. Doesn't always happen but might be worth checking.
