The out of focus photo doesn't help too much but you can see at the bottom of the screen it says it has no signal. Different companies show different things on the screen when there is no signal. Dont recall ever owning a Sharp flat screen TV but a blue screen with random dots may be theirs... my LG just shows a blue screen but have seen screen shots of other models where it appears to have a small graphic that appears to be a simplified moon orbiting the earth.

Looks like either, Backlight strip LED lenses detached from the strip. Or, Focus sheets have moved.
Both fixable, look around YouTube, if you have the inclination.

    Thanks both.
It's not actually my TV, but a super-cheap one available locally that might do as my PC monitor (my current 42" Plasma chucks out the heat...)
The sellers do say it's hardly noticeable when there's an actual picture on the screen, and their son seemingly plays games on it without issue.
I quite fancy a fix - as long as it's simple.
    Cheers.

Sometimes you have to take a punt on things, especially if it's dirt cheap!
  • Cheers. Yes it is, and I'm not bothered about some bleed - it's just for surfing and MSE...

Looks like the LED lenses as you say, RR.
    This shows it being sorted:
    I fancy a go if I can get it super-cheap. I bet it's awkward, tho'... :-)

I wouldn't use super glue, it will turn the lens white after a few days as the vapour reacts with moisture in the air.
Clear silicon will probably work, or one of the bostik type glues.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

    Eek!
I was hoping that these had their lenses still in place?

    Phew.
Picked up my £15 Smart TV this morn, and it rattled like a bag of marbles as I put it in the car.
Took it apart - lawdie, I hate ribbon cable connectors - in fact all sorts.
Couldn't bear to undo the delicate ones for the screen itself to fully detach it, so devised a way to hold it and the various opaque panels out of the way without fully disconnected it whilst I tackled the offended lenses.
Used clear Bostic contact adhesive - worked well (thanks Facade).
