Vueling name change costs!

Looking for some thoughts or help.

I have a booking to fly from Florence to London Gatwick on 3rd Oct and due to illness would like to change one of the 3 passengers names.

When changing a name on the Vueling website, the first page shows that a name change will cost €50/passenger, which I am more than happy to pay. Once I entered the change of name and pressed continue, the cost increases to €298!

On speaking to Vuelings customer services department, they advised that the cost of €50 per person was per person on the booking and not just the person who’s name is changing! If that be the case, then the cost would be €150, as there are 3 passengers, however the customer services representative couldn’t explain why the costs were different and said that the system is correct and that’s your policy. 

This doesn't make any sense to me!

Is it not the €50 name change fee (for one) and the difference in the fare (for one) ?  e.g. if the fare was originally €50 and today the flights are €248 then extra €298 due.  Fare difference would be on both flight sectors as well.
