They would not be able to switch an account from the married to the maiden name. Any name mismatch stops a CASS switch.

Other issues are that when they die probate will also have to be obtained in  both names - "A.B.C. otherwise known as A.B.D. - or the executors will not be able to gather in and deal with the assets in the other name; and really when drawing up a Will you ought to identify which are assets held in a different name and state the name they are held in, with the will commencing "This is the last will and testament of me A.B.C. otherwise known as A.B.D." or "This is the last will and testament of me A.B.C. also known as "A. B. D.".

Frankly it is simpler to hold assets in the one name that is on your passport and on the electoral roll.
  • For burner accounts I’ve always used Starling Bank. Easy to apply online, decently quick to issue the debit card and most importantly only a soft credit check means no impact on credit score unlike some others.

This so called phase “burner account” has a criminal connotation ring to it. You all see it in the movies when criminals use "burner" mobile phones for nefarious reasons. Just saying..

It's only a word. And movies aren't real.

You really don’t need to mention this to me. It’s a phrase that  suppose to be cool or hip and is mimic from the movies. As for “It's only a word. And movies aren't real” this can open pandora’s box, trust me on that one.
