ULEZ Scraping Company receipt given on pick up?

Hi,
A car needs to be destroyed and a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) provided in order to obtain the ULEZ grant.
The scrapping company will come to collect, the car, keys, complete V5 and require proof of ownership by the person handing over the keys.
The scraping company is not providing any receipt or paper work when picking the car up but say they will provide this with the CoD, cash for scrap (bank transfer) and will tell the DVLA of change of ownership for the car's owner within 7 days.
I seem to recall that its the owners responsibility to inform DVLA.
My question: Is it normal to have a car picked up (by the scrap company, to be taken to the yard a fair distance away) to be delivered for destruction and no receipt or documentation given to the owner at the point of handing over the keys and V5?

Tell DVLA yourself.
Can be done online that you are no longer the owner. You do not want to be getting any speeding tickets or other such fines...Life in the slow lane1 -
Thanks for the info.
I need the car destroyed and a COD (Certificate of Destruction) given or sent to me.
Are they categories when telling the DVLA (online) e.g. Car Scrapped, Car sent for COD?
Is there a difference between sending a car for Scraping and sending a car to be Destroyed?0 -
No idea, never done it. But given the link is on a page about scrapping cars....James_Bond_007 said:Thanks for the info.

Just start the process & see what they ask for.Life in the slow lane1 -
I've just scrapped a car, the scrap company gave me a CoD on collection, they didnt need the V5C and said I didnt need to inform DVLA as they do it. I did check a few days later on the Gov.uk site and I couldnt change ownership as the vehicle wasn't recognised so the scrap company were true to their word and sorted it all, although it doesnt mean all scrappers work like that of course

Interesting comment by Lemondrops69 especially as it states (V5 section 8) “”The Law: If the vehicular is sold or transferred, both the Registered keeper and the New Keeper must sign this Certificate”.0

Thats not correct, there isnt anywhere to 'sign' the V5C or need to anymore, in fact there isnt even a section 8!! Maybe you're looking at an old V5, now called V5C. Now you just give the green slip to the new owner and make sure you inform DVLA you've sold it and who to. The CoD said no V5C so maybe they get around it that way?James_Bond_007 said:Interesting comment by Lemondrops69 especially as it states (V5 section 8) “”The Law: If the vehicular is sold or transferred, both the Registered keeper and the New Keeper must sign this Certificate”.
Just spotted a topic on the subject https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6471136/how-to-scrap-car-without-logbook#latest Its quite possible to scrap without sight of the V5C0
