I was told I cannot scrap car without logbook as they are not licenced

However the scrap yard told me I do not need to wait for the physical logbook .

They said go online and Google how can I scrap car without logbook

Do I just contact the DVLA?

What is the process?

You go to Google.com and type "how do I scrap a car without a V5C".  This will bring up a list of results.  You click on one of the results.

Here is one of the results: www.webuyanycar.com/guides/selling-and-buying-cars/scrap-car-without-v5c/

Have you asked the scrap yard why they need the V5C when online links which they told you to search for say that you don't need the document?

I did the above link and it was straight forward. CoPart asked for the V5, but the link saves the hassle of sending the v5 and filling in th slip, then you just destroy it and the DVLA send you an email confirming change of ownership, unspent tax refund is done as well . Only thing I didn’t like is it doesn’t actually refer to scrappage in the mail, and the site both just change of ownership, so I kept initially thinking I had the wrong link.
