Hi.
Thinking of buying a com TV as it's cheap but also will be primarily used as a PC monitor, so should be ideal.
It's an LG, is HD, but they seemingly do not have built in tuners or nuffink. It would be 'nice' for it to also act as an occasional TV, tho', and the current owner apparently uses an Amazon 'Fire' stick for this.
Ideally I'd just like terrestrial channels and quick access, so not the hassle of going through a 'player' to find it and play 'live', so is there such a thing an external DVB tuner I can use for this? IE, that works through an antenna?
Failing that, it would be ok to use a 'box' via the internet and connected via HDMI. For this, what do folk recommend? Roku? Android? Manhatten? What the?
Thanks.

A TV, by definition, will have a tuner.
Nuffink (haha) less.1 -
Why bother, buy this instead

Thanks. What's a "commercial TV"? Do you mean a store TV? One that's come out of a business staff room? One you found in a skip? I'm not aware of a "commercial" TV.All TVs should have tuners, otherwise they aren't TVs, they're just monitors.2 -
It's a weird thing, to be sure. It does have an aerial socket, so a bit confusing.
In general, they are the type of TVs you see used for info and displays - stronger, anti-burn screens, designed to be left running throughout working hours, 24/7 with no issue.
That Argos deal is insane, flan! Still 6 times more than I need to pay for a monitor

ThisIsWeird said:Yeah, as I thought, its a glorified monitor. It might have RF In, but that's going to for what was analogue TV. You won't get diigital TV on that, it doesn't have a Freeview tuner. You'll have to buy a FIrestick or something and you can get the PSB channels through their respective apps; you won't be able "tune" anything in on that. Or you can get Freeview boxes (see Amazon) but you need an aerial connection.2
