Have you ever used your Halifax accounts for buying cryptocurrency?Depending on who you bought from, it may have been illegal. But even if you bought from reputable ? crypto exchanges, banks may not like this, and discontinue your banking facilities.Without a CIFAS fraud marker, however, it remains a mystery why Nationwide would have turned your application down. May be just co-incidence. Try somewhere other than Nationwide or Lloyds banking group. If you need to continue with crypto, your best bet for a current account is perhaps Revolut, though they have so far failed to obtain a UK banking licence and therefore can't offer FSCS protection. I also don't think they offer ISAs, and it woud be risky to keep savings that are not FSCS protected. To spread your risk, not having all your money with a single financial institution is prudent, anyway.

any negative data on CIFAS does not show on credit reference agency reports to customers, only to firms.
You need to SAR CIFAS to reveal any adverse markers.4 -

Some CIFAS (victim) markers do show on credit files, but not the ones that you need to be concerned about. CIFAS members (banks etc.) can see the others on credit files too but these are hidden to customers.

They don‘t show all the CIFAS markers in the free or in the paid for versions.0 -

They don‘t show all the CIFAS markers in the free or in the paid for versions. On the other hand, there is a value associated with knowing you can see everything there is to be seen in the OP's circumstances.
@zjoliveira have you tried to open a Monzo, Starling or Chase account yet? These are fully featured accounts which normally open instantly and without a hard credit search (so long as you don't apply for an overdraft). I have no idea why Nationwide closed your account but I can only think it must be something other than fraud reported by Halifax.0 -

That isn't what I claimed there to be. I was inferring a value in terms of regaining control of a perceived crisis.
