5G options going forward ( what happens to my telephone line ?)

Options
Hi I looking at going 5G with three for £20 PM, My question is if in the future I want to go back to standard  fibre would I have to pay the standard going rate for a telephone line which is about £140 at the moment even If I am still connected physically by a normal telephone line. Thanks

If by Standard Fibre you actually mean FTTC over a phone line you may find that you are in a "no sell" area if your street has been provisioned for REAL fibre.

This will be more and more common as real fibre rolls out and the withdrawal of copper phone lines gathers pace.

Depends on who you use ( and as stated , if FTTP becomes available, then the copper pair connection wouldn’t be reused ) , many providers don’t actually charge for installation, the majority of addresses will have had a BT type connection at some point, even if it’s no longer intact , chances are , if you commit to a minimum term contract , there will be no upfront charges , just whatever the monthly fee the company state at the time of joining or rejoining ( plus an annual increase based on inflation ) , so if you leave your Openreach based ‘landline’ service for a period , and then return to it later , chances are the ‘reconnection’ will be ‘free’ .

I only got fibre to the cabinet at the moment, so that would put my mind at rest if I come back to BT openreach at some point
