  • Hello PHK,

Many thanks.  She did change (port in) her number (PAYG) from Three to Lebara. But this wasn't recently, it was in around October 2021.  Grateful for any advice.  Lebara told us that they can't block numbers, so they say it isn't down to them.

When a bank sends an SMS for 2FA they do so by injecting the message directly into the message centre of the network.

This is why most banks ask you to confirm the network when entering a mobile number for text alerts.

If they don't then they can only pass the message to the network to who the number was originally assigned.   (We don't have a database of numbers in this country only where they were originally assigned)

So in this case, assuming the number was originally on Three the message would be injected into Three's message centre. The message centre should then recognise you'd ported out and then send thr message to Vodafones (who host lebara) message centre.

It sounds like either this isn't happening or when it arrives at Vodafone they aren't sure where to send it or if the wrong network was selected then its getting lost.

If you can actually speak to Raisin then get them to manually change the number. Otherwise you'll have to ask Lebaras MNP team to speak to Three about a routing issue.
