Text Messages not being received on Apple iPhone SE 2020

Hi,
I'm trying to help a relative set up a new savings account. As part of the set up they need to receive an activation/verification code by text message. The bank is Raisin. For some reason the text messages are not being received.
Raisin say they have the correct phone number. When I text the relative, the messages come straight through, but the ones from Raisin, despite repeat requests, never arrive. Not sure if this is a "Raisin" error or a problem with the iPhone.
Please does anyone know what might be wrong? I don't use Apple, but I googled and found a suggestion to check the "blocked contact" list but there is nothing relevant blocked.
Have also tried re-booting the phone but this made no difference.
If anyone knows how to solve this, that would be really helpful.
If relevant, the SIM provider is Lebara.
Many thx in advance

I have the same phone and I use Raisin and I’ve not had an issue with text messages from them.So it would seem to be a personal specific issue rather than a general one. Which probably isn’t much help, but wanted you to know that it is doable.
have you tried taking the phone number off Raisin online and then putting it it in again? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Thanks Elsien. Yes that's what we wanted to do, but now every time we log into Raisin it goes automatically to that same page saying it is sending a verification code by text. There is no way to get back to the "personal details" page in order to re-enter the number or even to change it (as there is another number that could be used instead - spare emergency PAYG mobile). We're waiting to hear from Raisin, but just thought I'd troubleshoot in the meantime.0

Take the sim out of the iPhone and into anything else then try again?

Yes, trying a SIM in another phone is a good idea.
If it doesn't work please can you let us know if your relative has recently ported their number into Lebara . If so what was the network the number was on previously and which network was it originally on.1 -
Hi, does relative use other Apple products? If they were logged-in elsewhere, the texts might appear in imessages on that device1

Thanks all for the helpful tips. I will try the SIM in another phone and check the outcome. Coffeehound, thank you, she does have an iPad and we didn't think about that, but will check it. Thanks for the tip!1

Surely (if you don't mind me calling you that) a bank text wouldn't be an iMeSsAgE .... would it?

I think it depends on the settings on each device, but I've had the situation where texts to my iPhone isnstead were routed to my logged-in macbook at home as imessages..J_B said:coffeehound said:Hi, does relative use other Apple products? Hi, unfortunately this still isn't working.
On the Apple phone nothing at all happens - no text message comes through and no other indications that anything is wrong. Texts from friends and family still received as normal.
Raisin said to check with the SIM provider (Lebara) that their number isn't blocked. I checked and it isn't.
I checked relative's iPad. Messages aren't going there either.
I moved the SIM from relative's Apple iPhone to my Android phone. Still no text message is received, but this time on my Android device I get a pop up message stating "messages is processing an incoming message". But even after waiting some time, still no message comes through.
Has anyone had this "messages is processing an incoming message" before and knows how to fix it so that messages can be received?
When I googled this, I found something about the message being an MMS rather than an SMS? Could this be the problem and if so, how to fix? The same googling suggested installing "Google Messages" App, but this would replace the phone's SMS text messages, which I don't want to do.
All other bank's verification messages are received without any issue so not sure why this happens with Raisin Bank only.
Many thx in advance.0 -
