Many moons ago I was seduced into using iPage as my web host.
Unfortunately, they now want a ridiculous £281 for a year's worth of hosting. I note that new subscribers are getting it for $1.99 per month!
So I am off, and looking for a new provider. Preferably one with telephone support, ideally UK-based but at least one you can actually get through to. I paged and even provide phone support any more.
Any recommendations?

I switched from Ionos (1&1) to Mythic Beasts, £30 for a year of web and email hosting for multiple domains, more if you need more space and bandwidth. Ionos were fine, but I made the mistake of not cancelling my £1.99 monthly hosting deal before year end and it gets expensive when it auto-renews.
The only issue for you is that they don't do telephone support. Their email support is very good, in my limited experience - I had a query before I switched to them which didn't seem to be covered by their FAQs, and it was answered within the hour.2 -
Have a look at https://www.inventivehosting.co.uk/index.html and see if they meet what you need.2

Thanks. Though I am really looking for a host with actual telephone support. Anyone know of one?0

A Qwant search brought up this provider, seems they have phone support. I've never been with them before though.

I have been using Unlimited Web Hosting for years for my personal web hosting/mail and now for our classic car club web site. Great service and reasonable rates.

What about DreamHost? Did anyone try it? I found it on the list of the best web hosting providers, but it would be geat to find out other people's experiences first.

I don't really understand why you need phone support when you can get everything done through live chats. iPage must have a smaller team, which is why it's so cheap. Keep in mind, the cheaper the web hosting, the more likely it is to have issues.Enigmaman said:Many moons ago I was seduced into using iPage as my web host.

I will recommend you Cloudways because they offer wonderful customer support. They do have phone support but I guess you will have to get premium support to get it and it will cost you too much. You should check it out.-1 -
I'm using these guys for several sites:

But, as its never gone wrong, I can't comment on the support0
