This event is actually quite harsh on the airlines as they are as much victims as the travelling public.
However, the OP appears to have been declined recovery of any losses via their travel insurance also.
I think that is worth reading the small print of the policy and challenging if there is any opening to push against.
If events such as this are not covered under travel insurance, it makes you wonder what the insurance is really for, and it might well be something we see taken up by the media in a short while. Maybe the Watchdog type programmes.0 -
Insurance companies will tell it is cover for what is stated and not excluded, in the policy terms.
Would anybody have considered a event caused by 'human error' of significance, before this happened?0
