So we haven't had a holiday for 5 years. Work have given me a one week window..
This weekend!
I was due to book a last minute but have read the ATC situation is still cancelling.
I don't want to loose £4k 💓😭🙈
Would you book to fly out this Sunday? Travel agent were no help xxxxx

Will all be sorted by then. Just pick somewhere that has a high frequency of flights if you are that worried.
You wouldn't loose [sic] anything.

ATC is back to normal, the airlines still have aircraft and crews out of place and that will take several days to sort out.
If you book and the holiday is cancelled you will not lose any money, you will get a full refund.0 -
Agree with the above that the ATC system is back to normal capacity. Any backlogs will definitely have cleared by Sunday assuming no further problems.
What exactly are you booking and who with? If it's a proper package holiday then you'd get a refund if it was cancelled.1 -
Thanks @bagand96 I couldn't get clarification if package holiday would refund as all need articles say flights out of control. Looking at jet20

That's fine then.
The bigger worry is probably your employer only giving you a weeks notice you can have a week off tbh. I certainly couldn't manage with that.
All flights are not "out of control" btw, that's media hype.0 -

In short.... If there was an issue and they couldn't fly you out, then you'd get a full refund of the package. If there was a problem whole you were out there and they couldn't fly you home, they'd be responsible for your care until they could get you home.0 -

We're flying to Athens on Saturday and then onto an island. Fingers crossed the wind will be in the right direction etc.
Please, please, please, take out travel insurance the moment you book.0 -
Why not travel by ferry or Eurostar?0

"All flights are not "out of control" btw, that's media hype."CorrectWe flew back from Malaga to the UK with TUI yesterday lunchtime on schedule - much less disruption than the wall to wall chaos that the BBC World News and Sky News International were trying to ramp up.0
