Condolences on your loss @Esmerelda2662Solidarity @ Thrifty_TaylorIs it just me, or has September flown past?Did some cleaning at my brother's flat today, while OH took him to a medical appointment. Cousins visited, which was nice. Young cousin helped with some cleaning, and we all went for a pub lunch. There is a lot left to do though! As it wasn't going to be a NSD, I walked to the corner shop and bought a couple of ingredients for a cake that I need to make tomorrow for a Macmillan fundraiser at work on Friday. Also need to pay the window cleaner, who came while we were out.Loads of food left from yesterday, so no need to cook tonight. Took brother some too.8

Sending hugs Esmerelda!
Went to bed early yesterday as was feeling unwell, had quite a good sleep and felt much better this morning.
Got up early and cleaned the aquarium, always feels good to do a bit of maintenance in there, it's like when you tidy a room and feel good about it afterwards!
Had to go into work as was in court today, unfortunately was affected by a really serious incident that's made the national news, absolutely tragic and my heart goes out to everyone involved. We rallied round as a team but times like these are tough and very much makes me put into perspective all the silly things that I stress over when there's a family out there who's child won't be coming home...
Anyway, self-care tonight and I'm not going to stress about the dirty kitchen and the unopened post.9 -
So sorry for your loss @Esmerelda2662, you've got lots of other things hinges on your mind now too. Sending hugs to you, @abundant1972 & all the poorlies x
Thanks @f0xh0les, I'm new to all this union stuff, so learning as I go. Will be back picketing again tomorrow, best look out my waterproofs!!
Had a nice deep sleep for a change, only woke at 6.30 when DH git up briefly, then I managed another hour. Had a very vivid dream!
Took DH for his blood test at the hospital, bought flowers to give my friend tomorrow when I see her, as I've not seen her since before her op.
Walked round the corner & met a friend who was viewing a house. It needs a lot of work but she's very keen, so we could be neighbours (well we live in the country but it's within a mile from my house!). She had to go & help at a community fridge, so I made myself go for a walk on my own. It was do tempting to just hear home again! Haven't been this route for @1 month, so noticed a few changes along the way. Also saw 5 young pheasants in a field.
After dinner I cut out & started seeing the final sofa cushion. Had an early tea, then I finished sewing on the machine & finished the hand stitching an hour ago.
Grateful that DH has finished fixing the washing machine, that it stayed dry long enough for the towels to have a good blow on the washing line, the changing signs of nature, the sofa cushions are finished, nosing round an empty house with my friendUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Should I do October? I'm still a bit distant and detached from the world but I can always cheat and rehash one of my old ones.
Hugs for anyone who's under the weather or going through difficult times. My day was quite good. I had to do my fast hobble again as the postman was knocking at the door. I didn't think I had anything due but some of my new (recycled, fair trade, charity) purchases from Oxfam arrived and a couple of other things too. Later when the regular postman came, my letter to apply for my pension came (happy dance). I tried to do some things whilst I was downstairs but my knees were creaky and my legs wobbly.
I've nearly finished my bear (5 other animals to go) but when it rained I gave up on putting more washing out or going to the library - I really need to go because I'm not sure if my recovery is continuing or whether round 2 is upon us and I'm part way through the last large print book.
Grateful for books and other entertainment, parcels and surprises, leftovers and easy food options.7 -
Sorry, I am up to my ears in party wall surveyors, and will be scaffolded and roofered and working in The Pulsating Metropolis of Oldham (TM), and half terming in October, with the provisional roof extension start date of early November, although last week it was first week of October, so it could be sooner. So basically I am a total basket case right now (not much change there then!).Is it okay to give someone a small room (as a study) for a C-word present? Not sure of the etiquette, I could gift wrap the door frame. Or a fully boarded loft with a new hatch and ladder? asking for a friend4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

@apple_muncher thank you - it is devastating, a young girl I work with was friends with her so I am trying to support her too. So senseless.
Today started badly when I threw coffee all over a chair (luckily plastic!), a cushion and a blanket. Luckily everything fit in the washing machine and I could just wipe down the chair - phew!
I had a telephone appointment first thing with a GP and had to pay for a private prescription for some antibiotics, only £13 and it was an essential spend.
Went for a walk before I logged into work, spent the day doing some training so got to stay indoors, which was good as had 2 deliveries today. Walked to the pharmacy to get my prescription after work.
Did some batch cooking of some dinners and lunches after work too. Got a headache now so just chilling for the rest of the evening.7
