@Verulamium_Vixen i have not seen anything on tesco club card about a christmas bonus! Have I missed signing up for something? I have not had anywhere near as many bonus points this year and have had very similar habits to last year. I also took out a tesco credit card which I pay off each month for extra points but I am roughly £20.00 down on same time last year. I havnt had a double points coupon for absolutely ages! This is going to really impact on Feb next year asI use them then to keep the beginning of the year low.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

@Soontobeoap I have the app and received an email in early September about a £42 Christmas bonus.
Spend £149 in each of September, October and November and get £a £7 voucher for each. If you complete all 3 months there is an additional £21 voucher.
I
There's nothing at all on the clubcard app about it, I just get an email every few days telling me how much more I need to spend.
I'll see if I can post a screenshot

@Verulamium_Vixen - is it cynical of me to immediately assume that Mr T's are making more profit from your monthly spends than the £42 they're potentially giving you and that they might be relying on quite a lot of people not hitting all three monthly targets?
I fell for some YS strawberries when buying feta and lettuce on the way home from the Post Office where I'd had to queue for so long I thought I'd take root, thankfully no-one took it out on the staff but I did feel sorry for them as more and more people arrived and took numbers to join the crowd.
My new total is £234.52/£120 and my average daily spend is £8.08.

Final shop for September done yesterday. A total spend of £135.43 of £200 leaving the grand total of £64.57 to move over to other budgets. Really pleased with that. It really helps having a separate budget for Bulk Buys for extra pantry stuff like baked beans and tomatoes plus DH's Diet Coke habit and my tonic waters which are also regular bulk buys.

@goldfinches I am proud of you not giving up and still recording your overspend and wisely breaking it down into a daily spend for the bigger picture.
When DH and I need to go shopping and sometimes it goes off a bit (more so previously) we aimed to be spending no more than a £1 an item. I was taught this by a work colleague some years ago she was very frugal and still is. We would see how low we could get an average item to be. Having to constantly watch what we spend it adds a little bit of "fun" to the challenge. You may decide to make a slightly more expensive purchase later when buying cheaper items.

Not a good month tbh. Hit 600 just from the 4 Tesco shops without adding in any others 🥲 must try harder good news is lots of items still to carry over into next month4

I went for my operation on Tuesday but after waiting for 5 hours, they sent me home! I'm back in again on the 10th 🤞Debt free date 23rd march 2009 🥳Autism is my super power 🏳️🌈 🌈✨4 -
@2Scratters - thankyou for your kind words of encouragement, much appreciated.
@lilly81 - I'm so sorry to hear that your operation has had to be rescheduled, must be a very anxious wait for you.
I had to buy more milk this morning and also bought rye bread to eat with baked beans at lunchtime as I felt I needed an energy boost before going on quite a long bike ride. It worked a treat, I powered past several other cyclists on both legs of my trip but I spent £4.75 at M*rks.
That makes my final total this month a horrifying £239.27/£120 which is an average daily spend of £7.97.
The Baking Budget has also gone over at £20.34/£20.
The Bulk Buy fund hasn't spent anything at all as I simply haven't spotted any bargains to go into my stocks so that remains at £77.60 and will roll over to October.
See you all over in October.

I've finished September still under my annual budget mainly due to having a visitor here for the first week and a bit who contributed to the groceries and paid for a couple of meals out (one was for my birthday present). I've not had to buy much extra as I used food from freezer, stores and allotment. This is great as it gives me some leeway in getting stocked up for winter, and buying treats for Christmas.
Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget3
