My sympathies to you and your OH @thriftwizard, I think there are quite a lot of us in the same boat.
@lilly81 - that's a very good price for the school uniform, I always dreaded this time of year when I had two needing new bits.
I'm coming here to confess having given way to the temptation of the cheese stall in the market as our Wednesday walk turned into a very wet and windy outing indeed and I felt I needed a little treat to make up for being soaking wet and freezing cold too. I spent £3.92 on some lovely oak smoked cheddar and did manage to say nothing else when asked if that would be all so that's something I suppose.
That makes my new monthly figure £148.85/£120 and my average daily spend is now £7.44.6 -
Well. Today I mixed my 2 hecks sausages from freezer with an odd beefburger and rolled the mixture into meatballs. It is getting harder to be inventive with what I have left in there. DH will start itching to top up with more treats soon. The weather changing has saved us from dropping into Aldi for more lollies anyway. Another NSD for me.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

565/600 going to be tight again But as we go from 24th to 24th and got 35 left for veg shop should just scrape in. I have eaton most of BBE date stuff I had accumulated. I made veggy burgers and pitta bread twice this month from watching jamies £1 MEALS WAS VERY EASY AND SURPRISING good Although grating veg took a while. I was thinking today it was a good job we both gave up smoking and drinking last 11 months as otherwise we would have definitely not managed I stopped using our usual veg fruit man as was spending 50 a week. Now we spend 25 pw at farm shop Also i have discovered lentils and with a tin of soup they are very cheap and filing and taste good

Well I don't really know what's happened this week. I have been super busy at work which has totally stressed me out, we are currently waiting for OH dad's test results to confirm whether or not he has the dreaded C which has understandably meant OH hasn't been himself and then I have come down with something yucky. This has all meant no proper shopping just the local c00p and corner shop for stuff, a takeaway and a bottle of wine - which have all hit the budget hard!
£229 / £250 spent!
£21 left until 27th seems impossible but I have Nectar points, a Morries voucher and some clubcard vouchers so is still possible maybe!?5 -
I'd made some LO veg from fridge and was to be making it into soup. I had used 2 veg stock cubes, not my normal square ones, it has turned out quite salty. Will need to use these portions up and make use of as a curry base sauce. Not prepared to waste them. 5 double portions of HG stewed last of the rhubarb. Enough to make a crumble/pie a time if needed. My lovely ND but 1 neighbour called round before they had got to the freezer so passed one onto her which wont get into any pie or dessert
Only milk purchased 2 x 2ltrs as is cheaper this way and we go through milk very quickly. There is only 2 of us too! A small fruit load for toasting as a late lunchtime snack.
Picked up a TGTG bag the other day and it only had a 30min window for collection. The store did allow my collection which I was grateful for as I had not realised. What a great bag! 250 gm of butter and a veg based butter/spread. Both in the freezer for now.

£10.60 spent in Aldi yesterday. Good news is they didn't have many lollies so temptation was removed! DH,'s cereal and bread now stocked up. Have been working through freezer but it doesn't seem to be emptying as I am freezing tomatoe sauce, fruit and runner beans. It really needs a good old sort out soon when the new month startscraft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Morning all, turns out I couldn’t resist temptation from shopping, mostly just treat type things. Still have the main shop to sort out for Sunday. Have to say my head is not in it this month which is definitely showing in the total.
£229.40/350 spent.

Goodness. Just realized I haven't updated my grocery spend tally in a while, not since the 7th of September. We've spent £197.78 since then including a Tesco order, several trips to M & S, Savers, and a trip to Tesco that Mr. Jings refused to tell me the total because he was claiming it as "his". He was entertaining friends while I was away. I just guesstimated £25 for that and added it in.
£303.70 / £350 spent. £46.30 remaining.
We're trying to eat from the freezers right now because they are FULL to the brim. I handily resisted buying some yellow sticker bargains from M & S yesterday and am quite proud of myself.
We have £46.30 left and another week to go with a friend coming to visit next Monday – Wednesday. No doubt Mr. Jings will also claim that as "his" expenses so as not to be constrained by the budget. 🙄
We'll have another friend visiting next Friday to the following Monday as well. It'll be a budget squeeze but I think we should be fine. I may up the October budget due to the weekend visit but maybe not... We'll both be gone in the middle of October for a 5 days so it'll likely even out. Tomorrow I'll likely pick up some fruit and more yoghurt at M & S on our way home from a day trip.
Have a lovely Friday everyone!7 -
OH just biked to and from M & S to get some bread to accompany our soup for dinner tonight. While there he also bought a container of yoghurt and a really expensive pot of gelato. £8.35 spent this evening. Tomorrow I'll likely drop by the high street for a couple dozen eggs due to running low and having visitors next week.
£312.05 / £350 spent. £37.95 remaining.

720/600 shameful gone well over this month. I am going to try making pesto out of carrot tops tomorrow. I have also made a lot of pitta bread this week and cook it in toaster which has been very quick and easy to do quite proud of myself that i can make and cook pitta bread.21k savings no debt7
