My roommate's minister just brought around two dozen eggs, apples, potatoes, summer squash, courgettes, bran cereal, and a lot of yogurt. Unfortunately we have all been sick - headaches, nausea, hot and cold spells, coughing - but we all have different symptoms. And no one wants to eat anything. Does anyone have any foods to recommend when you haven't been eating for a couple days and are just starting back to trying foods again?7

@gill5blue sorry to see you go. Well done on achieving your aim.
@weenancyinAmerica hope you all feel better soon. I always go for a boiled dippy egg when I am poorly as it is what my Mum always made for me and makes me feel comforted. My DH cant stand that idea and always starts back eating with toast and dry foods. Maybe soup? Its funny how food can conjour up memorys. I cant stand the smell or taste of rice crispies as they remind me of when I was 5 and recovering in hospital after meningitis. The Grandkids love them though so we still get some in. 😂. Hope you are back to your busy self soon.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

@weenancyinAmerica maybe a bit of scrambled egg with toast. Grate some apple into the yoghurt. Soup if you have some in stock.
Get well soon

Morning everyone.
I'm really sorry for not being about and posting.
Last week was a disaster with food shopping as I blew the money on food badly and spent an extra £2.
Biscuits, crisps and chocolate were involved, which I normally try to seriously limit with being on slimming world. Although I'm so glad that the resit for my exam is done, fingers crossed that I pass.
Too many non essential items too.
I found that the pantry can be very useful/beneficial, but I have a sweet tooth and was being offered a lot of what I consider junk food, which I would rather try and avoid.
A couple of people were lovely although one of the volunteers was rather rude. I noticed that one or two people were very grabby and would clear the decks if allowed.
I've managed to do an online shop for all the heavy storecupboard essentials.
It's the first time for a long time I've ordered anything online for the cupboards, so it will be a good experience to learn.Decluttering campaign 2023

Drat! I didn't manage to keep my spend below £40 so am now £27.40 over. And I suspect there'll have to be a little top-up shop on Monday or Tuesday too; hopefully less than £10, but still... Never mind, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting clearer now. DS3 is off to his new abode on Monday.
Turns out I'm now feeding 4 omnivores and just 1 pescatarian. DD1, who's going off travelling with her BF in November, has realised that there aren't many branches of W8rose in the wilder parts of South America, so the less fussy she is, the better. I have every respect for their choice to refuse to be party to cruelty to animals, but going to, and working in, a part of the world for several months where there are no McCartney sausages could leave her very hungry - and short of essential nutrients - when it's just not necessary. As she would just eat UPF readymade cr4p left to herself, under the impression that it's more hygienic than home-grown-&-cooked food (DD2, however, cooks everything from scratch) I'm actually a bit relieved.Angie - GC Sept 25: £311.65/£450: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)6 -
£13. 50 spent over all today at the range and Aldi. I went to the Range for ribbon and thread. DH tagged along and put biscuits and crisps into the basket! 🤦♀️.
This afternoon DH was bored so took a walk to Aldi and spent £9.00 on ice lollies. Jam and milk!
I think I know where my weakness lies!!
Still he didnt sign up to this challenge, I did. He says "dont record my bits, they are just treats!" but that would be lieing to myself. I just have to try to slow him down for his own health and mine as he usually comes home with treats for me too.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

@Soontobeoap I think we're married to the same husband. 😂
£11.95 spent just now in M & S for a large tray of strawberries, easy peelers, garlic, lots of eggs, and poppy seeds. I keep meaning to pick some up to make lemon poppyseed muffins but I'm always forgetting. I told Mr. Jings to not go through all the easy peelers at once because they're for our guest to also eat when he arrives on Monday afternoon. And then laughter ensued...
£324 / £350 spent. £26.00 remaining.

I think all husbands must be the same! Mine came shopping with me this morning and ended up spending £14.85 in M&S and the only things on my list were onions, soft marge and figs - the rest of the spends was on things he put into the basket! Also spent £1.65 in Lidl on some eggs. He also put things in the basket there too but they came from our Treats budget as included chocolate and cake! Total for this month is now at £82.66/£200 leaving me with £117.34 so will definitely be transferring some more to the Bulk Fund as that is currently overspent due to buying next month's UHT milk as DH is waiting for a date for an operation so he didn't want me lifting 12 litres of milk! He seems to forget I used to do it before he retired, LOL!
