Electric only tariff for heat pumps

Hi
we went and got a heat pump, for many reasons, then the prices jumped and we have a huge electric bill now.
given that the government wanted us to install these, does anyone know what the best tariff is for supplying electric only, and if there’s an support for heat pump owners?
the pump is great but our bills jumped like a kangaroo!
cheers

We have a heat pump and have found tracker to be very cheap with Octopus and will move to their cosy octopus product (for heat pump owners) when tracker average hits 23-25p.
We are expect to bring down our yearly electricity bill down from £2050 to around the £1500 mark (maybe lower) we are not going to be as tight on energy usage as last year so expect usage around 6250kwh a year.
As an example tracker prices on average for us over summer have been 17p kWh and predictions for the usage we can shift and work around for Cosy would see us pay approx 23p kWh over winter.

I have a heat pump and have seen my electricity bills jump too. But if I had stayed on oil I would be paying about twice what I used to and gas has gone up a lot so what you are experiencing is not just a heat pump problem. Some other countries, e.g. Sweden I think, do offer cheaper electricity for heating. But heat pumps are at there most efficient when run at a steady output for long periods and I don't think there is any UK electricity tariff that will give you a cheaper rate to do that.Reed0

Does your heat pump control system tell you a coefficient of performance? How were you heating your home before getting a heat pump, and how much energy were you using then?By all accounts heat pumps take a bit of care to set up efficiently, and it's possiblt that yours can be improved.
