The opening post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with this.

i am looking for something in relation to the machine not working and how to word it in the parkit appeal before popla appeal, many thanks
A PoPLA appeal is not appropriate for an IPC Accredited Operator.

It's not a "fine". Re-read the paperwork and give me £10 for each mention of the word "fine" in there.

What you have received is a speculative invoice for an alleged breach of contract from an ex-clamper, unregulated private parking company. Now, go and read the Newboes/FAQ thread in order to familiarise yourself with how to deal with this.

    Which PPC?
thanks, i did put "fine/inv" in my copy, but i know what you mean. the company is parkit management ltd. i have a handle on the basics; i am looking for something in relation to the machine not working and how to word it in the parkit appeal before popla appeal, many thanks
Sorry, it won't be going to POPLA as Parkit are IPC AOS operators. Their second stage appeal process is via the heavily biased IAS (95% of cases found in favour of the PPC), not worth trying.

Just use the initial appeal template from the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, first post (which will be rejected), then ignore anything further unless you receive a Letter of/Before Claim from solicitors representing Parkit, or a County Court Claim via the Northampton CCBC. Come back on this thread if you receive either.

  • ahh, thanks Umkomass, didn't know about IAS, naturally i will appeal, but as you are pessimistic about that and if i fail, you think i still have a chance once a letter of claim or court letter is sent, if you don't mind me asking how?

Forecasting the future in this game is not a science. Only time will tell, but I'm pretty sure that Parkit are pretty benign on the litigation front. Try to find other threads via the forum search engine, use 'Parkit court' as a search term, making sure you change 'Best Match ' to 'Newest' and see if there is any history - but I expect the number of cases (if any) you can count will be on the fingers of one hand.
