MBNA seems to have a sort of cashback, but they do not give any useful details. The header shows Costa Coffee, Harvey Nichols, Just Eat, and Sainsburys. No mention of Asda and Lidl. It looks like you only get cashback from overpriced suppliers in posh areas. No mention of Visa or being able to change the contactless limit.
There are "smart rewards" in addition to this, which change and expire. e.g. I can currently get 20% cashback on 'posh overpriced' wine from Laithwaites, expiring in 5 days.
And yes, the contactless limit can be changed in the app.

SiliconChip said:Why not stop doing ths sort of spending on your Barclaycard and use a Chase debit card instead? That will pay you 1% cashback, give you 1% interest on balances held in the account (and 4.1% if you also open their savings account) and from what I can see it's possible to set your own spending limits - the downside of course is that you have to run it through the app, and your mobile phone must be able to install the app, primarily by using 64 bit processing.
what they can't do is get your credit card statements0 -

what they can't do is get your credit card statementsWhat an odd post. I'm not sure why you think that the executor's ability to review staments is a bad thing, I did it after my mum died so that I could establish what charities she donated to so that I could advise them of her death. Given that the OP is concerned mainly with purchasing food I don't suppose the executors would find anything of great concern. And I can see no reason why it would be any more difficult to get hold of credit card statements than bank statements.0 -
A credit card provider will not release statements to anyone else, not even an executor
And i can quite imagine why some people would not want eg their family (as executors) to know what they have been spending their money on in the 7 years previous0 -

Feel free to contribute your thoughts there too.1 -

Again, this card was never opened to new applicants and only offered as a retention products to customers of one of the Airlines card mentioned above, that were exited by MBNA when the deal with Amex ended (they were duo cards product, Amex/Visa).0 -

But it wasn't anything to do with an airline.
My app simply describes it as "cashback credit card", but if I look at the payee details in the current account that I use to pay it (set up many moons ago) it's say "MBNA Platinum Mastercard".0
