Defective Barcode on Ryanair Boarding Pass

I've just downloaded (pdf) and printed my boarding passes. The barcode comprises 13 dotted vertical lines, which is not how a barcode should look like.See attached.
I have also got the app on my phone which has a QR code on the pass. This looks ok but I would like the additional security of paper passes.
Any ideas?

Have you tried scanning the printed code with your phone's camera to see if it gets recognised as a barcode/QRcode? Perhaps Ryanair are changing the way they formulate the code on hard copies as a fraud prevention measure.
  • Nope. Doesn't scan. Seems to be no way to contact Ryanair either. Neither their Chat or Facebook pages function!

Ask them on Twitter. They are always replying to stuff.
  • Hi
I've since found that I can download and print passes with the correct barcode on my Google mobile. So the problem is an issue with my desktop. Never had a problem before this and no inclination to investigate further!
    Cheers!
  • Is that Microsoft Edge?

Clean your printer head and reprint?

Erm, they "printed" to PDF, not paper 😂

It's likely the program that you're opening the .PDF with. Try a different one in future (although I know you've solved it now)
