Hello All,

If I search MSE forum for "Excel" for example I get some results I don't want, e.g. threads that contain the word "excellent".

Is it possible to do some sort of advanced search to include "excel" but exclude "excellent"?

Any replies appreciated, thanks

Are you putting "" round the search term?

I've tried both with and without quotes.

There's some difference, e.g. if I search for "excel" from 1st July 2023 to now I get 401 hits as opposed to 403 hits searching for excel (without quotes), but either way I still get lots of hits which contain the word "excellent" but don't contain "excel" on its own
