    So you have incorrect wiring. You need to isolate all extension wiring by unplugging the master faceplate and plugging directly into the test socket.

    If you still have a crackly line, it is the line to your property - BT's problem, if not it's incorrectly wired extension wiring - your problem.

    Agree with espresso, 3 its not required check you have not disturbed 2&5 if ok put 3 back using care if this some how sorts the problem great, if not then contact your phone provider and report a fault on the line.
  • well after 2 hours of being disconected of line this has not solved my problem i think i might need better microfilters as im using the ones what orange provided do you think i should use bt ones?

    Never mind the filters at this time remove them and try your phone directly into the socket can you hear a lot of noise/ crackling if you can the problem is on the line phone 150 and report the fault.

    Have you tried plugging a phone into the test socket? Any crackling?

    Have you tried plugging a filter into the test socket and connecting online? Does it work?

    If so your extension wiring is at fault.

    BT look after the line to your house, The Post Office is your ISP.
