Not signed a Contract gas company demanding daily charges

    I can't offer advice here but I will say, If ever there has been a thread that is being drip fed, then this is one.
  • the meter readings are the same and no gas was used. the building was vacant for over 9 years before we bought it and the boiler was disconnected with no use of gas at all. we took pictures of the meter as proof 
    If you still have a meter then your supply has not been disconnected; It might be capped off, but that's you choosing not to use it - not being unable to use it.

    If you still have a meter then your supply has not been disconnected; It might be capped off, but that's you choosing not to use it - not being unable to use it. 

    It doesn't matter whether it's connected or not.  If the OP has never used any gas at all, then they are NOT a customer of the gas supplier, and the gas supplier has no right to charge them a standing charge.
    That's written into the law as the Gas Act.
    If it sticks, force it.
    If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
