Home Insurance Renewal Tripled

I received my HI renewal and almost fell off my chair as it had tripled from last year. I called to find out why, he wasn't sure but said there was something called a lock endorsement flag suggesting I don't have the right locks, I'm not in the house and it's a risk.  This is completely incorrect.  I tried comparison sites but got similar if not even larger quotes, one was 5 times.  I've paid the same price for a few years, nothing has changed, and the flag is incorrect - but I've no idea how to rectify it. No matter what I enter into the details the quotes are coming back beyond affordable.  Has anyone had this?  any ideas how to correct it?  It's not happened to my neighbours.

If call centre staff knew the reasons they wouldnt be working in a call centre.

yes it has.   Just not things that you are seeing personally.

Has anyone had this?  any ideas how to correct it?  It's not happened to my neighbours. 

Everyone's home insurance is up a lot this year.   Maybe your neighbours haven't had their renewal yet.

2022 suffered early storms but was followed by a prolonged drought and like all drought years, claims sky rocket.    In addition, inflation on building materials and labour is running much higher than the headline rate and many construction items are in short supply.

My insurance had shot up too. I had a search and found several providers who could offer me the same cover for the price I paid last year.
