Car hire prices

It looks like car hire prices within the UK have collapsed recently.
Has this also happened outside the UK ? Can anyone explain why ?

They were very high post-COVID as the car hire firms had sold most of their stock in order to survive. When travel restarted they just just have enough cars so prices went up.
