No it's immoral. People have bereavements and things going on in their life where they take their eye off the ball. What happened to the 14 day cooling off period? This is very sharp practice.400ixl said:
That is not something that happens with any insurer, so you can't blame them for you not cancelling the renewal if you were going elsewhere.The_stingemeister said:Yes they've auto renewed me, had a lot on and thought my new insurer was going to do it for me.
Doesn't change they are to be avoided but they are not to blame for you not doing something.0 -
The OP didnt cancel it within 14 days, they didnt cancel it at all as the queues were too long so they decided to withhold payment instead.The_stingemeister said:

They also didnt have a bereavement etc because they had had time to shop around and find a better price elsewhere they just stated they didnt have time to wait to speak to them. I think you "sharp pratice" accusation is much better levelled at the OP than anyone else. I mean if the queue in the supermarket is too long you dont just walk out with your goods anyway do you?0 -
Ok. I wrongly jumped on the thread because I was screwed by One Call. Should of started my own thread, as my case was really different. My issue was about auto renewal, not changing your mind.DullGreyGuy said:

No unsurprisingly it doesn't work. So no phone line and no emails to them. This means you can't escape...unless by letter?Marvel1 said:https://www.onecallinsurance.co.uk/faq#:~:text=If you wish to stop, renewals department via Live Chat.If you wish to stop your policy from automatically renewing, please opt out of auto renewal by logging into your account on the customer portal under the accounts section or contacting the renewals department via Live Chat

Can't see anything about stopping renewals?0

They know I want to stop auto renewal as another insurer (who I spoke to) approached them about my NCB. Such a dodgy company...0

You think it's "dodgy" that they didn't cancel your renewal just because someone else asked how much NCD you have?
You do realise they can't do that - and it would be really dodgy if they could.0 -
Thats not how it works. You can't just assume that will stop the auto renewal. No insurance company will do that (either request an auto renewal is stopped or accept a request to do so from anyone other than the policy holder)The_stingemeister said:They know I want to stop auto renewal as another insurer (who I spoke to) approached them about my NCB. You personally have to take responsibility and have the auto renewal stopped with your current provider (Onecall).0 -
But THE ISSUE is you CAN'T stop it. They don't take calls or emails. Their online portal never works.400ixl said:
