I'd recommend anyone on EE to check their messages as I got one which meant I could cancel my sim only contract early without charge so i've gone from £30 per month to £15 per month with £75 cash back with Three.
I've copied over the general gist of the message as I can't see anyone mentioning this on the forum and I can't be the only person affected by this
"Hi XXXXX, when you purchased with us on XX/07/2022, we were unable to supply your Contract Summary & Pre-Contract Information documents. This was due to an issue on our side. These documents include details about your purchased product, plan, and other relevant information.

Don't worry, we're not making any changes to your contract and this doesn't impact your current service. If you'd like to request a copy of the documents, please fill in a quick form, found here XXXX We'll then be in touch. As this was our error, you can cancel without any charge, just call 150, choosing the option for the Upgrades or Retentions teams. Please aim to call us within 30 days."

I got one of those and will also be changing. What did make me think though is if no contract or paperwork was given at the start does that make the contract null and void. I'm 12 months into a contract would I be entitled to a refund for those months?0

Even if you could prove it wasn't then they'd have to put you back in the position you were before. You'd need to return phone and SIM, port your number back to wear it came from. They'd refund any upfront charges but you'd have to pay for the service you'd used. Which is likely to be more expensive at out of bundle prices than the monthly amount.0 -
I have had the same message two days ago on my husbands mobile ( taken out feb 24) and then on mine ( taken out oct 23 ) and after doing my due diligence i have rung to cancel my contract for the device and gone to a sim only deal and they allow you to keep the handsets. Yes i got two iphone 15 and they don’t ask for handset back.
To make the most of this you are then allowed to upgrade to another handset next month if you needed it so doesn't effect ongoing rights0
