Disconnecting Openreach/BT/Talk Talk line?

Towards the end of the year, I should be getting one of the alternative full fibre (FTTP) broadband ISP networks (AltNets) installed.

This means my current 60Mbps Fibre service and phone line on the Openreach network with Talk Talk will no longer be required.

My contract with TT ends in November and I will roll monthly at the higher price until my new service is operational.

I just wanted to check in the meantime if my understanding is correct that I will need to call Talk Talk to give 30 days notice at the appropriate time and ask them to cancel the services they provide me with?

Is that the correct terminology, or do I need to ask for something specific?
