Thinking of leaving Sky - advice please. (already have Firestick / streaming subscription)

The Indian operator on Chat told me I'd have to return it.

He also wouldn't accept my request to cancel, so I had to leave the chat as I wasn't getting anywhere.

Isn't it illegal for them to refuse? I've been on a rolling contract for months.

Definitely agree with the above post in calling them to put in your cancellation notice, you should get the UK call centre then. Live chat is awful in my experience. Another way is to email them requesting cancellation, they will probably need to call you back to confirm though. In my case they emailed asking if there was a day, am, pm that suited to phone me.

So it sounds like I'm basically paying £46 for the ability to record.

As the channels I generally watch appear to be on FreeSat + my Firestick.

You could also replace your Sky box with a Freesat box that has the ability to record as well (no subscriptions).
