Is the PC slow or your internet connection??

There is a service status page for Virgin

    http://status-cable.virginmedia.com/vmstatus/summary.do

My guess is that you are on an ADSL Virgin line. These do tend to be a bit temperamental for the first few days.
  • internet connection if i try to access a page its takin a few mins to load up whereas yesturday it only took a few seconds i have been on the service status page i have also tried contactin virgin and have no look getting through to someone could it just be a fault on there side or is there anything it could be on my side?

Where are you located as their is currently 4 outages on virgins service. If you have not altered anything your end then its odd's on the fault is out with your control.

Try resetting the modem as the ip address is dynamic and this will give you a new one sometimes this can sort out problems.

Best bet is to wait 48 hours before you start worrying... Virgin are doing a lot of work on their network just now... If you cant get through it will be because they are busy probably with people in the same situation

I've been having problems with Virgin cable broadband for a couple of days. They do admit to an outage but were claiming earlier today that it was fixed, though surfing was extremely slow and no email was available.

Seems ok now. Perhaps there was a backlog of traffic.

They have their own unofficial support forum here: http://www.nthellworld.co.uk/home.php or more specifically here: http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/56/ you could perhaps try posting there and they maybe able to assist you better than here.

It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.

Didn't Virgin media buy out nthellworld during the buyout/merger of ntl/telewest??

I believe they bought the site from the owner and offered him a job with VM so it is now more like an official support forum these days.
They can also clamp down on the negative comments.
