EE SIM Only - Blue Light Discount?
I'm thinking of switching to the EE 20GB SIM that's offered via BT for £9 a month. I'm currently on a 1pmobile £10 data boost but the 10gb isn't always enough. EE is a 24 month contract with price increases, however I have a Blue Light card and a Beans account who both have 20% off codes for EE. I'm not sure if they'll work with this sim though, has anyone used this recently and does it accept the code? When I went into the EE website to look there's no discount box at the start of the process, I don't really want to put in all my bank details etc to find out it isn't available. If not I'll wait and see what Black Friday deals there are later this year. I like 4g and WiFi calling and so far I've found EE (or 1p) are the only provider who offer this for my Motorola G82.

Have a look at
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cheap-mobile-finder/sim-only-filters/
e.g.
Talk Talk 20GB data £3.98 for 1st 3 months then £7.95 a month (Vodafone network)
ID Mobile 25GB data £7 a month (3 Network)
ID Mobile 54GB data £9 a month but also £30 gift card (3 network)

I am currently thinking of just going to another Network and not having 4g or WiFi calling. I put a different EE sim in my basket that wasn't on an offer and there still wasn't a box for an offer code.SaverRate said:Have a look at

It used to be, not sure if it still is, that Blue Light and few other discounts were only available if you went into a store.I remember you had to show a current payslip to prove you still worked in the service?2

You shouldn't need a payslip. Being open to HM Armed forces veterans where would they wouldn't have a payslip to prove entitlementJon_01 said:It used to be, not sure if it still is, that Blue Light and few other discounts were only available if you went into a store.I remember you had to show a current payslip to prove you still worked in the service?1 -
I've obviously had to prove where I work (and pay an admin fee) to get the Blue Light card in the first place. It also has an expiry date so I need to verify myself again when I renew. The code given is for online use only as well. I did think it probably was just that it couldn't be used for that SIM, but as others not on offer don't seem to have a box for codes either I'm not sure. Unless it appears later after you've put all your info and bank details in, but I didn't want to go that far through the contract process to find out. If no one on here has tried it I'll just give EE a call if I do decide to join them.0

Tried again the other day and there was a box for codes this time and the code worked. However it then only showed the sim as 10gb and not the 20gb as per BT offer. Decided to stick with 1pmobile for now anyway and see what BF deals are offered in a few months. Trouble with anyone using the 3 network is there is no 5g from them anywhere near where I live.0

1p Mobile is currently offering their 25GB data boost for £10pm so you'd probably be just as well staying anyway.Peppa537 said:Tried again the other day and there was a box for codes this time and the code worked. I noticed this and asked them on live chat how long the offer was running for. I was told it was mainly meant for new customers (whatever that means) and the CS representative didn't know how long for but guessed at October as its a back to school offer. I've switched auto recurring to off for now anyway in case I can get it.tinker411 said:

It's running until the end of September, they posted this about it on Facebook (excuse the cropping, didn't want to plaster someone else's info on here):Peppa537 said:

As for mainly meant for new customers, well, maybe that was the intention, but I'm an existing customer and it's showing as available in my boosts list:
Anyway, yeah, you should be able to switch to it no problem when your existing boost runs out.1
