As some of the quotes for the top six firms have changed. I have created a new spreadsheet calculation and British Gas seem to be at the top, see attached.

When I called my current provider, OVO, they told me the price guarantee was increasing in January by 5%. I believe,
So before I now switch to British Gas starting from the 1st of January, are there any other firms outside of these big six ones that I should be comparing against?

if not, can someone that is on British gas please send me a PM

Thankfully I am on a fix till September 2024 so the increase will not affect me

Out of interest I did a comparison 2021 and 2022 when all this kicked off, I guess everyone tried to cut down on energy when Russia pulled the plug

Full years January 15th to January 14th

Despite me reducing my electricity usage for 2022 by 14% my cost went up by 32%

For the gas it was similar, reduced usage by 34% my costs went up by 41%

I am a low income low  user and feel for low income high users as they must be really struggling

My consumption has gone up, since I got an EV, but I don't pay any more than previously. I love smart tariffs.

Now that the winter has finished, I'm looking to compare and change from British Gas (who were my best option during the winter)

I have been comparing OVO Energy, British Gas, edf Energy, ScottishPower, Eon Next, and octopus energy

as there are no longer any comparison size to compare the hallmark, like an MSC had before the Energy crisis, are there any companies are missing to compare in my manual comparison?

I have checked on MoneySupermarket.com and they are doing energy comparisons.

They say I can save by switching from E.ON Next to EDF. However they are comparing my current E.ON Next rate with a 1 year deal from EDF.

It doesn't take into account that my E.ON Next effective rate is coming down by over 10% on 1 April.

You are correct in saying that the MSE Credit club is no longer offereing energy comparisons, but bear in mind that MoneySavingExpert.com is part of the MoneySuperMarket Group,

I guess the other price comparison sites may also be offering energy comparisons, but they will still be based on the same energy suppliers.

I don't particularly trust money supermarket.com as over the last year have done her comparison with them, and despite the provider that I'm currently with, always brings back the same one, So Energy on a fixed one year tariff, so doubt the objectiveness of this website and Energy Comparison results

Is anyone else aware of a reliable comparison sides, that works just like the good old money saving expert energy club used to work and provide results of 10+ energy providers with their respective rates/prices?

Also, besides the big six Energy firms  I manually comparing myself, listed above, are there any other players in the market for greater London that are competitive?

Tick box within filters to show all tariffs including those cannot switch to via comparison site
