Thank you very much for these detailed instructions, but unfortunately as I am using Numbers app on an iPhone I am finding it very difficult to paste in the formula as when I do I get an error messageAm I right in thinking that EDF energy will give me the Lowest cost for the winter anyway?0

You don't need to do a spreadsheet. Just establish your day and night annual kWh usage from actual meter readings a year apart, then multiply by the kWh rates and add 366 daily charges.

As I have been changing energy provider, every few months to gain the better rates, I don't have these annual figures, unfortunately
Will using just an average figure for a one bedroom flat do the same job?0 -
Did you keep any of your bills? Hopefully you did, and two readings 12months apart for each register (day/night) will give you an annual usage as a good starting point.
Averages aren't much use anyway but even less so with Economy 7, because it depends a lot om how much different households can shift to the off-peak (and they may well not even all have the same off-peak times).0 -

Peak, usage , = 7.5 KWhOff peak , = 15.5 KWhYour increased daytime use has changed the maths. I've put this together to illustrate. With your higher daytime use, Scottish Power are now working out to be the cheapest option - admittedly only by 6p a day vs. EDF. This is because SP's daytime tariff is 4p/kWh cheaper than EDF's, while their nighttime rate is only 1.5p more expensive.

If you switch to them
surely this would then bump them to the top?as I will be switching again once the winter endsThe next question would be, does anyone have this referral link/code?0 -
Is anyone with EDF energy on here?
If so, can you share your referral link?0 -
It's against the forum rules to exchange referral links.1
