Thank you very much for these detailed instructions, but unfortunately as I am using Numbers app on an iPhone I am finding it very difficult to paste in the formula as when I do I get an error message

Am I right in thinking that EDF energy will give me the Lowest cost for the winter anyway?

You don't need to do a spreadsheet.  Just establish your day and night annual kWh usage from actual meter readings a year apart, then multiply by the kWh rates and add 366 daily charges.

As  I have been changing energy provider, every few months to gain the better rates, I don't have these annual figures, unfortunately

Will using just an average figure for a one bedroom flat  do the same job?

Did you keep any of your bills?  Hopefully you did, and two readings 12months apart for each register (day/night) will give you an annual usage as a good starting point.

Averages aren't much use anyway but even less so with Economy 7, because it depends a lot om how much different households can shift to the off-peak (and they may well not even all have the same off-peak times).

In numbers highlight the cell and when you get the message copy/edit

    Choose edit then autofill cells

    Drag vertical or horizontal

Sorry, my energy usage with OVO Was incorrect, the correct numbers should've been
    Peak, usage , = 7.5 KWh
    Off peak , = 15.5 KWh
Your increased daytime use has changed the maths. I've put this together to illustrate.
With your higher daytime use, Scottish Power are now working out to be the cheapest option - admittedly only by 6p a day vs. EDF. This is because SP's daytime tariff is 4p/kWh cheaper than EDF's, while their nighttime rate is only 1.5p more expensive.

Thank you very much for creating this spreadsheet, but I just found out EDF Energy are currently offering a £50 referral code. If you switch to them
surely this would then bump them to the top?
as I will be switching again once the winter ends

The next question would be, does anyone have this referral link/code?

Is anyone with EDF energy on here?
If so, can you share your referral link?

It's against the forum rules to exchange referral links.
